Stormers player is suspended from all sports for placing a bet against d…..

Sanzar Duty Judicial Officer Mike Heron has enforced a one-match ban on Rynhardt Elstadt from the Stormers team, following his receipt of an off-field yellow card during a Super Rugby Match on June 2nd, 2012. Elstadt’s suspension stems from rule 6.1, triggered by his accumulation of three yellow cards over the course of the Super Rugby season.

This suspension sidelines Elstadt from all game participation until June 30th, effectively ruling him out of the upcoming match against the Lions. Mr. Heron’s decision took into account the circumstances surrounding all three yellow cards, reviewing reports and footage of each incident and engaging in discussions with Elstadt and his legal representative, Mr. Erasmus.

While the first two yellow card instances were deemed not serious, the third infraction, coupled with its recurrence, necessitated a more severe penalty according to Mr. Heron’s assessment. The incident prompting this suspension occurred during the Bulls versus Stormers match on June 2nd at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, where Elstadt’s tackle on Bulls player Akona Ndungane involved contact with Ndungane’s hair, which Elstadt continued to grasp as they went to ground.

After thorough deliberation, Mr. Heron indicated a penalty of one-match suspension, considering the totality of circumstances, the player’s schedule, and previous discussions with the player, his coach, CEO, and counsel. Consequently, Elstadt accepted the suspension, rendering him ineligible for all forms of the game until the scheduled match on June 30th against the Lions.
