LOS ANGELES During the baseball season, momentum can occasionally be discovered in the most unlikely locations. All the Diamondbacks can do is hope that they were able to get some at Dodger Stadium this week. On Wednesday night, the Diamondbacks defeated the Dodgers, 6-0, to take a series lead over the team with the second-best record in the National League. It was an unlikely result for a Diamondbacks team that had almost collapsed into the week and with underperforming pitchers slated to start two of the three games. In this ballpark, Christian Walker launched another home run. With a single in the first inning and a solo home run later in the game, Ketel Marte extended his hit streak to 21 games. To start the scoring, Corbin Carroll hit his third triple in the previous five game

This was the Diamondbacks’ first regular-season series win at Dodger Stadium since April 2018 and their first shutout since September 2017, despite the fact that they won both of the games they played here during the division series last October.

With a record of 24-26, the Diamondbacks are hoping it will be the catalyst they need to get things going.

“This is exactly what we’ve been searching for,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo remarked. “Over the last two or three weeks, we have improved as a baseball team… We still have to keep moving forward, but this is undoubtedly a positive push for us.

“These are the series wins that you can take some momentum, for sure,” Walker stated.
