Before giving up Stott’s home run, the Phillies were behind 4-2. This was Díaz’s fourth home run surrendered this season. In 2022, Díaz gave up just three home runs before missing the previous season due to a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, which he sustained while celebrating the Dominican Republic’s World Baseball Classic victory. After walking Brandon Marsh, Díaz gave up a single to pinch-hitter Kody Clemens, which was the first pinch-hit for Philadelphia in 16 at-bats this season. After walking Whit Merrifield and hitting Alec Bohm with a pitch, Díaz made two outs.
