Emmanuel Latte Lath kept up his impressive play as Middlesbrough defeated Watford 3-1 at home to cap off the summer.

At the Riverside, the player of the month for the Championship in April put Michael Carrick’s team ahead with his 11th goal in 12 games.

The Hornets’ Wesley Hoedt equalized in the second half, but Isaiah Jones and Alex Bangura, two substitute goals, gave Boro a late lead and a well-earned victory.

After going seven games without a win to begin the season, Boro finished eighth with just one loss in their final 12 games. After 13 games, Watford had only two victories and finished in 15th place.
