Aidan O’Connell, a second-year quarterback, “earned the right” to compete for the starting position on the Las Vegas Raiders, according to remarks made by coach Antonio Pierce earlier in the offseason. After splitting first-team repetitions with seasoned Gardner Minshew in the spring, O’Connell seems to hold the “slight edge” for long-term QB1 duties with training camp approaching, per ESPN. According to Jeremy Fowler, “O’Connell and Minshew…went tit for tat” in organized team activities (OTAs).
