INDIANAPOLIS — Chase Elliott was given a penalty in the Brickyard 400 for a blend line violation.
NASCAR felt Elliott — the driver of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 9 Chevrolet — blended back onto the Indianapolis Motor Speedway track off of pit road.
NASCAR sent a memo to drivers on Saturday morning saying, “Vehicles must use the acceleration lane through the exit of turn two.”
