In 2024, Kevin Stefanski, the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, will lead the team’s offensive playcalling as well. On Thursday, he informed reporters that he will continue to call plays rather than handing them over to offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. Prior to Thursday’s revelation, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal alluded to the play-calling question as “the big unknown which had hung over the Browns’ coaching staff”. After all, Dorsey was previously the offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills until being hired by Cleveland this offseason. But the “unknown” didn’t last long because Stefanski revealed the truth early in the camp. Since being appointed head coach prior to the 2020 season, he has called plays for the club, even though Dorsey was a new coach with prior expertise.
