A participant in a charitable half-marathon has passed away due to a collapse. He had been doing the Southend Half Marathon in Shoeburyness, Essex, every year. Shortly before 11:00 BST, the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) reported that it was dispatched to the scene following reports of a medical emergency on Mess Road. The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, two ambulances, an ambulance officer car, and a fast response vehicle were dispatched to the area, according to the statement.
