Jade Cargill was written off TV last week rather unceremoniously which has required a couple of unexpected changes to angles she was actively involved in, suggesting her sudden absence wasn’t planned. Biggest of all, Cargill was supposed to be competing in a WarGames match at Survivor Series tonight. Bayley now occupies her spot in the match. Cargill was also supposed to compete in the Women’s US Title match but has been replaced by Lash Legend.

Cargill was written off TV via a parking lot attack. A commonly used tool by WWE to remove someone from a storyline when they’re hurt for real. Reports shortly after the attack confirmed that’s the case and Cargill is dealing with a real injury that means she can’t wrestle. However, PWInsider followed up on that initial report, refuting it confidently and claiming Cargill isn’t injured at citing, labeling other reports “100 percent incorrect”.

In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has confirmed there are three theories behind Cargill being written off TV, and no one seems to know which one is true. In fact, the latest on Cargill’s removal from TV includes a note that not even those close to the Women’s Tag Team Champion in WWE have been clued in on what exactly is going on. A WWE source told WON that no one knows the nature of the injury, or even if it’s real.

A more worrying theory doing the rounds is that Cargill has been written off TV for “political issues”. An insinuation that backstage politics might be at play here. That Cargill has fallen out with somebody or upset someone backstage, and the injury is a staged one used so that she can be sent home while the issue is hopefully ironed out. That could lead to Cargill and Bianca Belair being broken up, and there’s a strong chance whatever the reason for all this is, we’re about to see the Tag Team Titles vacated.

The original belief was that Cargill has a severe injury that will keep her sidelined until WrestleMania 41, at the earliest. If that’s even remotely true, then WWE will likely reveal what it plans to do with the Women’s Tag Titles very soon. Whether that be stripping the champions of their gold or giving Belair a new tag partner. Hopefully, of the three theories, the one suggesting the injury has been staged and Cargill is fine, and hasn’t upset anyone backstage, is the accurate one.
