Montreal Canadiens Sign William Nylander To Eight-year Contract Extension
The Toronto Maple Leafs, a hockey team, announced today that they had extended the contract of forward William Nylander by eight years. The contract has an average yearly value of $11.5 million.
After 37 games this season with the Maple Leafs, Nylander has 54 points (21 goals, 33 assists), good for sixth place among NHL scorers. With 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in 17 games to begin the 2023–24 season, the 27-year-old set a new team record for the longest point run to begin a season. Since then, Nylander has also amassed a 13-game point streak and has participated in at least one point in 33 of the 37 games this season, leading the league.
