This offseason, the St. Louis Cardinals have made a concentrated effort to strengthen their pitching staff as a whole.

After enhancing the starting rotation in the offseason, St. Louis shifted its attention to the bullpen. Going into the 2024 season, the Cardinals are in a much better position on paper thanks to the complete overhaul of the bullpen and rotation.

Despite their dismal 2023 campaign, many have predicted that the Cardinals will win the National League Central in 2024.

However, it might make sense for the team to keep adding players. Three-time All-Star Liam Hendriks is one player who is available and could be worth keeping in the bullpen.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan claims that Hendriks has several offers on the table and will make a decision by Thursday.

“Reliever Liam Hendriks has multiple offers and has set a deadline of Thursday to sign with a team, sources tell ESPN,” Passan stated. “If Hendriks doesn’t sign now, he would keep rehabbing from Tommy John surgery on his own and throw for teams in late July before signing for the stretch run.”
