Liam McNeeley pledges to play basketball for IU. It might be the first domino in the unique 2024 class.

BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University basketball made a big splash in the 2024 class on Sunday, as five-star wing Liam McNeeley committed after making an official visit to Bloomington early in September, his senior year.

A longtime Hoosier priority in the current senior class, McNeeley chose Indiana over a number of schools, including home state Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Alabama. He joins Mike Woodson’s class as his first recruit, and this could be the beginning of an incredible haul between now and the November signing period.

During a network-broadcast commitment ceremony on Sunday, McNeeley told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi, “Their interest has never wavered.” “They’ve been the most consistent in recruiting me.”

For as long as any player in that class, McNeeley has been on Indiana’s wish list. He is widely regarded as a top-20 player in his class. He made an official trip to Bloomington last year, and this weekend he is going to do it again. The Montverde Academy star decided that was sufficient and made his announcement on ESPN during the Top Flight Invite in Las Vegas.
