There are just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, which makes every game in the 2023–24 collegiate basketball season even more significant.
North Carolina is attempting to move back into the running for the top seed. Currently, they are ranked as the No. 2 seed in the first round by the selection committee. They must win both the ACC Tournament and the regular season in order to do it.
However, things haven’t been great lately, and an additional unfavorable week in ACC play has raised some concerns.
North Carolina dropped to No. 1 in CBS Sports’ Top 25 rankings in addition to the Coaches and AP top 25 polls. Following this weekend’s games, Garry Parrish updated his rankings, placing North Carolina at No. 9.
In Saturday’s 96-81 victory over Virginia Tech, Armando Bacot finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds. The Tar Heels visit Virginia on Saturday for their next game.
