Jeff Hafley, the new defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, had his first meeting with state media on Thursday.
During his four seasons with the Eagles, Hafley went 22–26, with a 9–15 record in the final two years. Hafley was obviously going to be under pressure at BC for the upcoming season, but he gets a fresh start by heading to the NFL now.
Joe Barry was replaced by Hafley; throughout the previous three years, Barry’s defenses were very subpar.

It will be the first time since the 2008 season that Green Bay has played with a 4-3 defense under Hafley. But simplicity will be the main focus of his plan.
“It’s our responsibility to use strategy to position the players for maximum success and playmaking, right? said Hafley. “The plan is intricate, despite the fact that many parts of it may seem simpler.
“We aim to simplify things for the players so they can play quickly, not have to think about it, feel confident, and not be scared to make mistakes. This way, I can provide them with the necessary information, or we can provide it to them, so they can play fearlessly, run, hit, cover, get off blocks, and tackle.” That is the clever design of the plan.

One of the reasons Hafley departed Boston College was the way college football was becoming.
“Since there are no contracts, you can hire and develop players, and then they can leave. It was like a never-ending storm of things thrown at you ever since I became the head job,” Hafley remarked. However, you adjust and try your hardest. College football has undoubtedly evolved, and while I won’t jump on a soap box just yet, I do believe that some things need to change. Despite this, the game and its coaches remain excellent, and the sport has altered significantly since I took over the position.
