The Creighton Blue Jays quickly gained control of the game as the Huskies were unable to get anything going. UConn would make an effort to rally, but in the end, the Creighton starting unit was unstoppable in its scoring and handed the Huskies just their third defeat of the year.
There were no pyrotechnics from a fight in the handshake line, unlike the Incarnate Word vs. Texas A&M Commerce game, but head coach Dan Hurley of the Huskies gave us some hot material as he stormed off the field screaming at a supporter.
For those of you who are keeping score, there is a quick “I will knock you out” uttered by the Huskies’ head coach. Well done, sir. Fans still heckle coaches and players, so it’s about time they were given a little more leeway when responding these days.
From the viewpoint of the fan, you have to feel like the man. In the realm of sports, getting inside the head of the opposition coach is a huge W. Nothing makes you more angry than to see the person you are criticizing react.
