BREAKING NEWS: Tennessee Titans has finally…..
Bill Callahan, a master of offensive line play, was released by the Browns to work with his son, Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan, in his first season as coach. “It’s a kid’s game,” Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski stated. It’s a business as well. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t treat individuals with respect and compassion.”
INDIANAPOLIS: Normally, head coach Kevin Stefanski of the Cleveland Browns would have been hesitant to part with an assistant coach who was capable of producing All-Pro lineman. However, the Tennessee Titans’ proposal went beyond regular bounds.
Thus, Stefanski and the Browns proved that compassion can still exist in the cutthroat NFL.
Bill Callahan, an offensive line guru, was released by the Browns to work with his son, Brian Callahan, a first-year coach with the Titans.
“It’s obvious that this is business. It’s a game for children. It’s a business as well. However, that doesn’t mean you don’t treat people fairly, with empathy, and with respect,” Stefanski stated on Wednesday at the Indianapolis Convention Center during the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. “We can still treat people how they deserve to be treated.”
The Titans’ offense was weak the previous season, scoring just 18 points per contest on average. The attacking line gave up 64 sacks. Due to injuries, quarterbacks Ryan Tannehill and Will Levis both missed games.
It will be up to Bill Callahan, who has long been seen as one of the NFL’s finest offensive line coaches, to enhance that aspect of the Titans’ offense.
On Tuesday, Brian Callahan thanked the Browns for their willingness to make accommodations.
It’s never easy to be in those circumstances. Fortunately, though, I believe it was a special circumstance for both him and me as well as the league at large,” Callahan remarked. It’s never occurred before. Cleveland’s willingness to work through that with us is very appreciated.
Since he was bound by contract, they undoubtedly didn’t want to let him go either. That was not necessary. I’m quite grateful that they recognize the special nature of the circumstance and can understand it. Being under contract in the NFL means that nothing is simple.”
