Kentucky’s victory at No. 4 continues to make history. At this evening’s halftime of his game against Overtime, Tennessee Knox made the announcement. He rejected the NBA G-League, South Florida, and Louisville in favor of the Cats.
It happened about one hour after Kentucky’s decisive victory over Tennessee Volunteers, ranked fourth.

Knox, a 6-foot-6, 211-pound small forward from Tampa, Florida, played for Tampa Catholic before joining Atlanta’s Overtime Elite program. The OTE to Lexington pipeline will go on thanks to his dedication. Alongside Rob Dillingham and Jordan Burks, the Cats currently have Somto Cyril to keep things going in the class.
Karter will play at Kentucky, just like his older brother Kevin Knox, so in a way the Knox family link continues. But Karter isn’t going to the ‘Ville with Kenny Payne. Payne isn’t going to get Karter to Louisville, but he played a key role in getting Kevin to Lexington.
According to Rivals, Knox is rated as the third-best small forward in the class and as the No. 14 player overall. He is an All-American at McDonald’s as well.
Since the majority of Kentucky’s current roster will be leaving, it’s wise to lock up a strong class now rather than waiting until the season to end to recruit more players via the transfer portal.
As Kentucky’s 2024 class approaches the spring signing period, Karter Knox joins small forward Billy Richmond, point guard Travis Perry, center Somto Cyril, center Jayden Quaintance, and point guard Boogie Fland.
This is Knox’s On3 scouting report.
Karter Knox is a long, powerful wing. His broad shoulders and flowing arms give him a very projectable and physically developed frame. Once he enters a college strength and conditioning program, he should have little trouble adding good weight. Straight line driving off the bounce is his specialty. Plays way above the rim, getting into the paint and attacking it ferociously. He attacks the offensive boards, plays well out of the dunker position, and is a proficient back door cutter. At the very least, I’d like to see him improve his jump shot and catch and shoot skills. While the form and release are acceptable, the trajectory and balancing points are not. Although he can drive in a straight route with great skill, he should learn how to counter if his path is blocked. Defensively, there is a lot of potential. His twitch and explosion are rapid, and he is very long. able to change up a lineup, guard fours, and run with twos and threes thanks to their athleticism. Will need to constantly maintaining a steady motor and tightening the mechanics. is Kevin Knox’s younger brother, an NBA player.
Karter, welcome to the BBN!
