In the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Alabama women’s basketball will start as the eighth seed and will play Florida State as the ninth seed in the first round. Alabama will go to Austin, Texas, for the first round after being placed in the Regional 4 in Portland.
The Crimson Tide (23-9) are coming off of their finest season in the eleventh season of head coach Kristy Curry’s tenure. Two Alabama players, senior Sarah Ashlee Barker and sophomore Aaliyah Nye, were selected to All-SEC teams for the 2023–24 season; Barker was named to the first team and Nye to the second. Barker finished 11 games with 20 or more points, and he averaged 17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals a game this season. Barker was a key member of Alabama’s squad. In 2024, she earned All-SEC honors and became the 34th member of the 1,000-point club for Alabama women’s basketball.

During her senior year, Nye made a significant contribution to the Crimson Tide’s success as well. She averaged 14 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, making her the 33rd member of Alabama’s 1,000-point club and receiving All-SEC recognition.
Essential Freshman In her debut season with the Crimson Tide, Cody became the first freshman from Alabama to be named to the All-SEC Freshman team since 2017. Her averages for each game were 7.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and a team-high 2.0 blocks.
