The top-seeded Hawkeyes take on the winner of Tennessee-Martin vs. Holy Cross on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. If they win, they play either West Virginia or Princeton on Monday. Caitlin Clark of Iowa, the current national player of the year, set the NCAA career scoring record with 3,771 points.

Additionally, secondary market ticket sales are skyrocketing. On StubHub, a single ticket for the two-game session on Saturday was starting at $524 (plus service costs) as of Monday morning.

Caitlin Clark, like Steph and Jimmer before her, is an experience of a “once in a lifetime.”

The top-seeded Hawkeyes (29-5) have sold out 34 of 36 possible games, including two games this weekend that are expected to be played. The two that weren’t completely sold out were in a Thanksgiving tournament in Florida that was exempt.

The Big Ten women’s basketball tournament in Minneapolis was completely sold out earlier this month; this weekend’s men’s tournament was nowhere near as successful. Ninety percent of the attendees at the women’s basketball game were, by most accounts, Iowa fans.

Coach Lisa Bluder of Iowa stated, “It seems like every game we’ve played this year has been that NCAA atmosphere.” “What an incredible turnout. Everybody’s schedule has our names circled. We’ve experienced a lot this year, not just during the Big Ten tournament, so I believe it makes us ready.

The Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games, which will take place in Albany, New York, will put the Caitlin Clark Effect to the test. The majority of Iowa fans might have to travel from the East Coast because it’s too far for them to drive.

How Iowa and Caitlin Clark can overcome a difficult path to the Final Four

“We’ll take any fans from the east who want to come,” Clark remarked. To be honest, there was a lot both at the Maryland and Rutgers games. Many people attended, and I anticipate that there will be a sizable contingent of basketball aficionados in general wherever we travel. Additionally, I anticipate that Iowans will travel quite well. If we survive, I don’t disbelieve them at this time.
