END OF AN ERA: The Miami Hurricanes key player bid the official goodbye to the team after confirming…

Two weeks after filing for the NFL Draft, former Washington State standout quarterback Cam Ward declared on Saturday that he would play one more season in college.

Ward posted a picture of himself wearing a Hurricanes uniform and declared his commitment to Miami.

He said to The Athletic, “They have a lot of guys returning on defense and offense.” “With the portal guys they’ve got coming in and the recruiting class they had, I easily think Miami can get to the CFP next year.”

On X New Year’s Day, Ward declared for the NFL Draft in a four-second video. However, it seemed Miami had done enough to persuade him to play at least one more season in college.

During his four years in college, he has thrown for 13,876 yards and 119 touchdowns passing. Before attending Washington State, he attended Incarnate Word for his first two years of education. By the end of the 2023 season, only six players in Division II, III, FBS, and FACS had ever thrown for more yards in their careers.

Miami’s starting quarterback going forward will probably be Ward because Tyler Van Dyke transferred to Wisconsin.

Earlier this month, Miami also acquired Reese Poffenbarger, a transfer from Albany. After leading Albany into the FCS playoffs and winning that division with 36 touchdowns and 3,603 passing yards, he transferred.
