Former Long Island high school standout Jovan Belcher, a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, brutally killed his daughter’s mother on Saturday before taking his own life.
Coach Romeo Crennel and General Manager Scott Pioli stood helplessly outside the team practice facility at Arrowhead Stadium as 25-year-old Belcher calmly fired a bullet into his head.

Kansas City police spokesman Darin Snapp stated, “They said the player was actually thanking them for everything they’d done for him.” He was thanking them and everything as they were just having a conversation.
At that point, he turned to leave and shot himself.
