Their origin tale is as follows (vocals by Chris “Mr. Grit” Victor): “Well, I was hoping to hear something from Texas that was a little different. Hardcore bands who sounded like they were from California or New York were starting to grow old on me. I so reasoned that I should create a distinctively southern sound, something that was distinctly Texan. I was listening to Marty Robbins’ Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs record one day while at work when it occurred to me, ‘outlaw country and hardcore punk!’ I discussed the idea with [guitarist] Jamie Salgado shortly after. Jamie was really sceptical at first. Jamie finally produced our single, “Ain’t No Way,” after some convincing and some time passed.
