Following the frustrating loss for the Golden State Warriors against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, Stephen Curry was frank.
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Golden State Warriors on
Friday, 138-136. In a thrilling game, Golden State narrowly lost on the road. Following the game, Stephen Curry spoke with Anthony Slater of The Athletic about the Warriors’ difficulties.
“Man, I’m not sure. Curry stated that he needed to “figure out how to stop talking about it and do it.” If not, you’ll face the same issues come January. If we are going to be any kind of serious team, we have to take care of it, whatever it may be. I’m a little tired of bringing it up.
Curry and Golden State were disappointed with the outcome. The Warriors’ offensive line made 47.1 percent of their field goals and 39.6 percent of their three-pointers. No matter how good your shooting is, it doesn’t matter if you turn the ball over an ugly 28 times.
With the Warriors accumulating 28 personal fouls, fouls were another issue. In the end, Golden State finished with 60 total rebounds versus just 39 for the Thunder, and 29 total assists versus 15 for Oklahoma City.
The Warriors were defeated by turnovers and fouls, as head coach Steve Kerr noted following the game.
In the defeat, Stephen Curry gave it everything he had. In addition to his 34 points, he grabbed six rebounds. Klay Thompson scored 22 points, and Jonathan Kuminga added 24 points and 12 rebounds. Ultimately, though, it proved insufficient as the Warriors lost 10–12.

Warriors struggling in 2023-24
Too many mistakes are being made by the Warriors. If Golden State starts to play more consistently, Kerr thinks they have what it takes to be a championship team.
Golden State has enough talent to begin winning games on a regular basis. Even though they’ve had bad seasons, veterans like Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson might be able to turn things around as the season goes on. Any team that has Stephen Curry at the center is bound to have a chance to compete.
Moving forward, the Warriors’ situation won’t get any easier as they play the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers on the road in their next two games. In those games, Curry and the group will aim to bounce back.
