The group reported that a chronic health condition was the reason for his death at home in Clearwater, Florida. As a tiny drag racer and chain smoker, Hank aspired to take over his father’s position as the team’s owner and manager. He took up the role as the Yankees’ public face throughout the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Then he remarked, “I guess we’re keepers of the flame.” “I’m not sure that I particularly enjoy it.
