Tottenham is keen after Leeds’ £10 million bid for Matt O’Riley was rejected.
It comes after Sky Sports claimed Leeds offered £10 million for the Denmark star, who was born in London, but the offer was politely turned down. Postecoglou now desires a reunion with Spurs, but he must contend with Premier League opposition.
Prior to the January transfer window, O’Riley is also being pursued by Brentford, West Ham and Brighton. It remains to be seen if they can persuade Celtic to consider a potential mid-season sale. His contract expires in 2027.
Although O’Riley may decide to stay with Celtic until the summer, it seems inevitable that he will play in the Premier League at some point. Undoubtedly, Leeds lost out on the opportunity to sign him in the summer.
Neil Lennon did in fact tell TNT Sports about a player that Leeds was “really heavy on” during the most recent window. It is unfortunate that Leeds was unable to finalise a deal, as it appears that we are currently being priced out of relocation.
