Among those deemed dubious are Justin Pugh and Darren Waller.
For the New York Giants’ game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, tackle Evan Neal is questionable.
This week marks the first time Neal, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, has been able to practice since the injury he sustained more than a month ago during the Giants’ loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
After practicing on a limited basis this week, tight end Darren Waller—who was placed on injured reserve on Thursday—is listed as questionable. Waller missed five games due to a hamstring injury. If Waller is healthy, the Giants will put him on a pitch count this Sunday; if not, they will need to make room on the roster.
Earlier this week, Waller expressed to reporters his hope of receiving permission to go back.
“What I want to do, and what I’ve been used to doing, is like 70-80 snaps a game,” he stated. “So, coming out the first week, probably not that, but as far as a number that’s solid that can contribute in whatever ways he needs me to contribute but also be fresh, assuming that’s realistic, but yeah, I plan on contributing given the opportunity.”
Three additional names—all of whom had limited participation in practice—were added to the injury report. Wan’Dale Robinson, the wide receiver, was listed as doubtful due to a calf injury; Cam Brown, the linebacker, was limited due to a hamstring injury.
Brown and Robinson were not given injury designations. Dexter Lawrence, an interior defensive lineman, was classified as “questionable” due to a hamstring injury. He was also listed as a limited participant.
