Volunteers in Tennessee
2024 class tight end Cole Harrison weighs 220-pounds and stands 6’6″. Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California is where he attends. He chose the Volunteers over Washington State as his team. Before deciding on Tennessee as his next school, he had offers from Tennessee, Washington State, Houston, Pittsburgh, San Diego State, and more.
Going ahead, Tennessee’s tight end room will feature Holden Staes, Ethan Davis, Emmanuel Okoye, and Cole Harrison. In his final year of high school, he led his team to an unbeaten season until their defeat in the state championship game. He finished with 32 receptions for 601 yards and eight touchdowns. Given his size, he moves fairly effectively.
He can track the ball well and finds ways to get open. With his SEC-ready height, he can surely ascend vertically to locate a ball and bring it in if necessary. It shouldn’t be shocking if you see this coaching staff try to add a little weight on him. Holden Staes, who will probably lead the charge for the three freshmen following him, will go hand in hand with him in the tight end room. Unquestionably, his ability to get open, even across the center, is his greatest strength. The 6’6 tight end appears to be difficult for linebackers to cover over the middle, so going forward, it is something to work on.
