ESPN REPORT: Ohio state star player committed to SMU And Was…

Omari Abor, a defensive lineman transfer from Ohio State, declared his commitment to SMU following his official visit this past weekend. The former standout from Duncanville, Texas, will be eligible for three more years.

Abor made five appearances this year and managed just two tackles, one of which was for a tackle for loss. He will still be eligible for three years after taking a redshirt year in 2022. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that takes into account all four of the major recruitment media businesses, he was the No. 79 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle.

Outstanding Although Abor has had trouble staying healthy early in college, Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson was impressed with what he saw in him. Now that he had had surgery, he might very well go home and try to have an influence.

“I enjoy Omari.” In the spring, Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson observed, “I think Omari is really starting to move forward.” He is currently 265 [pounds]. He was a big football misser. What you overlook are the technical details and the fundamentals. Additionally, since he wasn’t practicing football, there was the conditioning aspect. He is therefore catching up.
