Victor Wembanyama of the Spurs: #1 on the Rookie Ladder?

Victor Wembanyama remains one of the league’s best rookies for the San Antonio Spurs.

The rookie for the San Antonio Spurs, Victor Wembanyama, is upset that he was unable to attend his first-ever game against former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo last night, which was his second game of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Wembanyama is still ranked as the league’s best rookie in the most recent Rookie Ladder by NBA.com, despite missing time.

“Apparently, only one ‘freak’ allowed on the floor at a time is a new rule or something, with Wemby missing his test against Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo,” writes NBA.com. Prior to the postponed match, Wembanyama had stated, “Probably one of the players I have studied the most.” Still, he wore some blaze orange, more aptly seen at Lambeau Field, and dutifully watched San Antonio’s 22nd loss.”

This season, Wembanyama has averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds, which has many excited about what he can really do once he settles into the NBA.

When the Spurs play the Chicago Bulls tomorrow, Wembanyama might get the chance to play again. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. CT.
