Tennessee’s Nashville (AP) — Rookie quarterback Will Levis, who suffered a sprained left ankle that is similar to the one that cost experienced quarterback Ryan Tannehill his starting position with the Tennessee Titans, wants to play on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
On Wednesday, Levis did not practice. Head coach Mike Vrabel stated that Tannehill will take the field in Levis’ absence.
The Kentucky player selected 33rd overall says he’s getting better every day and is trying to get into the best playing condition.
Levis, who is 3-5 as a starter, stated, “I’m playing if I can, and I’m just working on trying to get to that point.” That’s all I can do, then. Along with the training staff, I’m working and listening as much as I can, taking good care of my body.
If Tannehill starts, it will be his first since he sprained his right ankle severely during a London loss to Baltimore on October 15. With Tennessee ending the season on a seven-game losing streak and missing the playoffs, that same injury cost him five games in 2022, including the final three.
The 35-year-old veteran’s contract is coming to an end. He claimed to be fully recovered, getting ready to play, and attempting to ascertain the situation.
“Obviously, you try to be ready as a starter every week, but in a week like this one, you’re just trying to be extra careful and prepared,” Tannehill remarked.
Tannehill was traded to Nashville in March.2019 and began by backing up Marcus Mariota, a rookie quarterback. Midway through October, he assumed the starting role, which he maintained until his ankle injury in London.
He claimed that it took him longer than he had anticipated to recover from his injury. And sure, missing out on starting lineup duty during a few difficult weeks was difficult.

Both have been sacked frequently; only four NFL teams have allowed more sacks than the 50 that the Titans (5–9) have surrendered. That iswhy Levis’ ankle strain is comparable to Tannehill’s injury that kept him out of the game.
Tannehill declared, “It’s a wild game.” “You can never predict what will occur. Sadly, injuries have hurt a lot of quarterbacks this season. Thus, it’s an extremely wild league. Furthermore, you can never predict what will occur.
Levis is all too aware of that. During the previous season, he persevered despite a right foot injury while in college. A quarterback who was projected to be a top pick in the 2022 NFL draft ended up going at No. 33 in the second round in April, teaching him a very valuable lesson.
