Kentucky basketball player Koby Brea is giving back to his community in a big way by hosting his second annual free basketball camp in his hometown of the Bronx, New York. The Fuego Koby Basketball Camp is open to kids of all ages and will take place on December 22 at Monsignor Scanlan High School. Click the X link below to sign up or find out more.
The camp, named after Brea’s nickname, emphasizes inclusivity and skill development. The first 70 children to sign up will secure a spot, with slots divided as follows: 20 for kids under 7, 20 for those 10 and under, and 30 for participants 14 and under. Offering a free camp is a rarity among high-major college players, underscoring the kind of leader Brea is on and off the court.
This year’s camp falls during Kentucky’s 10-day break following their game against Ohio State, allowing Brea the perfect opportunity to return home and connect with the next generation of basketball players. After Saturday’s matchup they will not play again until New Year’s Eve when they will take on Brown from Rupp Arena.
The Wildcats’ sharpshooter has had a strong season so far, averaging 12.2 points per game while shooting an impressive 52% from the field and 53% from three-point range. He’s also contributing 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, showcasing his versatility and consistency. The transfer from Dayton has quickly become a fan favorite, and he seems to be showing the love right back.
