Hayden Kubik and Caroline Jurevicius of Nebraska volleyball access the transfer portal
According to a source close to the team that spoke to the Lincoln Journal Star on Monday, two Nebraska volleyball players—freshman opposite hitter Caroline Jurevicius and sophomore outside hitter Hayden Kubik—have logged into the transfer portal.
Kubik, who participated in nine games for the Huskers this season, including a brief appearance in Sunday’s national championship game between Texas and NU, is the younger sister of former Nebraska All-American outside hitter Madi Kubik.
With two years of eligibility remaining, the 6-foot-2 Kubik had three kills on 15 swings this season. She made six more jabs.
The 6-foot-2 Cleveland native Jurevicius, the No. 17 overall pick in Nebraska’s top-ranked 2023 recruiting class, redshirted this season, meaning she still has four years of eligibility left.
Given that Nebraska has two freshmen joining the team and no seniors leaving, a roster crunch was unavoidable.
