There appears to be less competition for one of the best players still available through the NCAA transfer portal.
One of the most sought-after transfer players left on the market is Texas A&M wide receiver Evan Stewart, who signed with the portal earlier in the month.
Stewart, the top-ranked wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class, was formerly a five-star recruit.
Thought to be front-runners for Stewart, Alabama and Texas aren’t considered “viable options” for the gifted wide receiver, according to On3’s Pete Nakos, who made this suggestion on Tuesday.
Among the programs Nakos “heard” for Stewart were the Tennessee Vols.
I’ve heard rumors about Alabama and Texas. Additionally, sources have informed me that those aren’t actually feasible possibilities,” Nakos stated on Andy Staples On 3. “I’ve heard Florida State mentioned a lot lately. I’m aware of Ole Miss. Tennessee has been mentioned to me. I’ve learned about USC. I’ve heard about Oregon.
“I will tell you now, but I believe we’ll get a greater feel in the coming days. “I don’t believe he lands in Texas or Alabama,” Nakos continued.
Stewart is among the best wide receivers in the country, so the Vols would undoubtedly benefit greatly from his acquisition. However, Tennessee would probably need to prevail in a non-existent bidding war in order to acquire Stewart—something the Vols haven’t shown to be interested in doing when it comes to transfer players.
For this reason, it doesn’t seem feasible that Stewart will end up on Rocky Top. However, the Vols seem to be at least still in the running for the Aggies transfer for the time being.
