Kristina Johnson, a former president of Ohio State, is prohibited from criticising the university by agreement.

 

Before leaving her position in November, former Ohio State President Kristina Johnson and the university came to a mutual separation agreement that forbade her from criticising her previous employer.

Johnson’s final act as OSU’s 16th president was to sign the release agreement in November. Johnson will get over $900,000 in salary for a full year as well as a $278,000 one-time payment as part of the agreement.

The severance starts 60 days after Johnson’s departure date and is paid out over a period of 12 months.

According to the agreement, Johnson risks losing her pay if she speaks poorly of the university.

CBS returned to covering college football full-time in 1996 after agreeing to broadcast in-conference games with the SEC.

Since then, the league and network have come to be associated with each other, complete with a unique theme song and the gritty action being narrated by Verne Lundquist.

But starting this season, the SEC won’t be solely dependent on CBS’ Saturday mid-afternoon college football programming. This season and in 2024, the SEC game of the week will share CBS’ available time slots with the Big Ten.

Of Notre Dame’s six home games this season, NBC will still broadcast five of them. The one exception is a game against Central Michigan on September 16 that Peacock will be the only platform to stream.

How does that affect the SEC’s deal with CBS?
After agreeing to a contract with the SEC to broadcast in-conference games, CBS began covering college football full-time again in 1996.

With a unique theme song and Verne Lundquist’s voice narrating the gritty action, the league and network have since come to be synonymous.

However, the SEC will no longer be solely dependent on CBS’ Saturday mid-afternoon college football programming starting this season. This season, it will share available time slots on CBS with the Big Ten, and in 2024, it will be the SEC game of the week.
