“A risk” is how a Newcastle United player describes his injury, which will keep him out for three months.

After the same problem persisted in the 1-0 victory over Arsenal, the Newcastle United star is expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time.

The star player for Newcastle United, Jacob Murphy, will have surgery after being sidelined by a shoulder injury.

Less than two weeks ago, during the 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund, the 28-year-old dislocated his shoulder. Murphy was sidelined for Newcastle’s next two matches against Wolves and Manchester United while the medical staff deliberated the best course of action.

The Magpies decided to try managing the situation rather than sending the 28-year-old for an operation right away, and as a result, the winger was added back to the matchday squad for Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

But fifteen minutes after he started, Murphy’s shoulder gave way once more, and Matt Ritchie took his place. The former Norwich City player is expected to be out for three months, according to United head coach Eddie Howe.

“We had a number of conversations with the medical staff when Jacob came to see me,” Howe remarked. “We believed that returning him to the pitch would be risky, but both he and the medical staff were willing to accept that risk.”

“We are certain that he will require surgery because we knew he might repeat the incident. However, there remained a possibility that he could overcome it and carry on playing and fitting for us. That’s a severe blow. It might take three months, but I’m not sure.

Murphy declared: “Tonight was a risk, but a risk I felt was worth taking to be out there and fight with my team!” despite having to sit out a significant amount of play. 3 major points

Murphy wasn’t the only injury-hit player to emerge from the evening after Dan Burn fell awkwardly on his back and had to be replaced at half-time by Tino Livramento.

The injuries keep on mounting for Howe’s squad with Alexander Isak, Elliot Anderson, Sven Botman, Harvey Barnes, Matt Targett and Javier Manquillo, plus the suspended Sandro Tonali, also unavailable.
