In addition to being two of the best players in the league, Embiid and Jokic have competed for numerous awards. These players are among the most contested in the league, whether it’s for MVP or All-NBA recognition.

Jokic recently had a podcast with teammate Michael Porter Jr. In which he was asked to list the current top five NBA players. The two-time MVP began his list with Embiid and proceeded to include players like LeBron James, Luka Donic, and Steph Curry. Notably, Jokic was not permitted to include himself.

Jokic is correct to rank Embiid first in his list after the first quarter of the season. The Sixers star has been the overwhelming favorite to win MVP this season, barring himself. Embiid has not only elevated his game to new heights but also led the Sixers to one of the best records in the Eastern Conference.

Embiid’s averages this season have been 35.0 PPG, 11.7 RPG, and 6.0 APG. It will be his third consecutive season leading the league in scoring if he maintains this pace. With a 21-9 record, the Sixers are in third place in the East. Even though they managed to win in Orlando on Wednesday without Embiid, it was only their first victory of the year without him starting.

The Philadelphia 76ers traveled to Orlando to play the Magic after their game against the Miami Heat on Christmas Day. Head coach Nick Nurse gave updates on two starters who haven’t played before the game.
