The Ohio State Buckeyes must now add special teams to the areas in which they reload in 2024.
On Saturday, following the team’s loss in the Cotton Bowl to Missouri on Friday, Ohio State starting punting Jesse Mirco entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after three seasons with the team, according to reports from Eleven Warriors.
Mirco punted 50 times this season, averaging 43.5 yards per punt, and has a long of 72 yards. He also downed three punts inside the 20-yard line.
In his career the Australian punted 130 times for 5,707 yards, averaging 43.9 yards per punt. His career-long punt is 77 yards.each punt. He has punted 77 yards in his career.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are aware of who will throw the first kick in Friday’s Cotton Bowl in Arlington.
They do not know, however, who will start at center for the opening snap of the 2024 season opener against Akron.
On3 rumors, however, indicate that the Buckeyes may be interested in former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard, who hasn’t decided on a new team.
Pete Nakos of On3 informed Andy Staples on Andy Staples On3 that “obviously, Ohio State is still shopping for a quarterback.” “They’re not entirely out of the quarterback market, in my opinion. However, I do believe that the Buckeyes are at least considering Will Howard.
Howard completed his career with the Wildcats with 2,643 yards passing.and completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
In contrast, Kyle McCord, the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes the previous season, completed 65.8% of his passes while throwing for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns with six interceptions.
According to Nakos, Howard may yet end up in the NFL, USC, and Miami are also considered.

Through the NCAA Transfer Portal, a former Ohio State Buckeye found his new home amidst the bustle of Early Signing Day.
Jakob James, an offensive lineman who was this season’s third-string center, committed to Toldeo, choosing to remain near his hometown of Cincinnati.
James, who saw action on offense six times for the Buckeyes this year, will be eligible to play for the Rockets for the next two years.
James said earlier this month, “Thank you to everyone that has helped me get this far on my journey,” as he announced his transfer. “To my fellow Buckeyes: I wouldn’t alter a thing. I adore you all. I have two years left on my degree and have entered the portal as a graduate transfer.”

After using the NCAA Transfer Portal, former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord is still unsure of where he wants to go next.
However, given that McCord is scheduled to visit Syracuse this weekend, there may be some movement on that front, according to reports.
After the former starter for the Buckeyes decided to leave Nebraska last week, the Orange were already reportedly the favorites to sign him.

Rather than going to Tuscaloosa, Moore—who is ranked among the best players in the NCAA Transfer Portal—will pay a visit to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Ohio State canceled the visit, according to the report, for unspecified reasons.
Moore had the third-most sacks in the FBS during the regular season with 14. He recorded eight sacks and two caused fumbles in 2022.
