Stephen Vogt, a former Major League All-Star and bullpen coach for the Seattle Mariners, has joined the Cleveland Guardians as their newest manager.

Terry Francona, who retired at the beginning of the offseason, has been replaced as manager of the Guardians by a new person.
2) Vogt was coaching the Seattle Mariners’ bullpen during the 2023 campaign; the team lost him. Losing important coaches going into a pivotal offseason is not good news for a team that missed the playoffs by 1.0 game the previous season.
3) Craig Counsell is no longer a candidate for the position of Guardian. He may decide to go back to the Brewers or consider the Mets, where he has already had an interview.
