The Lakers are prepared to assemble their team and head toward their goal.
Los Angeles (AP) — The Miami Heat defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 110–96 on Wednesday night behind the 21 points scored by Tyler Herro and the 11 points he scored in the fourth quarter from Duncan Robinson.
Out of the eight Miami players who saw action, Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 16 points, Nikola Jovic scored 15 points, and Bam Adebayo scored 15 points each. Kevin Love scored 10 points and pulled down a season-high 14 rebounds.
The Heat had the lead for the majority of the game, but with 10:46 left in the fourth quarter, Christian Wood’s driving layup and free throw to finish a 3-point play put Los Angeles ahead 74-72.
Robinson and Jaquez both drained 3-pointers as Miami rallied for a 10-2 lead. The Heat’s momentum carried over for the remainder of the game after Robinson’s outside 3-pointer from the corner close to the Lakers’ bench increased the lead to 77-72.
“Compared to the three he made in front of their bench at the end of the game, Duncan’s first half threes were more open. That, in my opinion, is his dangerous area. He can’t be put out. Erik Spoelstra, the coach of the Heat, stated, “I think that’s where it changed for him. He saw one go.” Because of that, in the fourth quarter, we essentially ran our offense through him and Bam on the catch and shoot off ball movements.
Then, halfway through the fourth quarter, the Heat put it beyond reach and ended a two-game losing streak with a 15-6 run over a four-minute span.
