As a linebacker for the Rams in the 1970s, Isiah Robertson was selected to the All-Pro team four times. He passed away in an automobile accident in Texas on Thursday night at the age of 69, according to an NFL.com story.

Robertson, often known as “Butch,” was selected by the Rams with the 10th overall pick in the 1971 NFL Draft. He established himself as a starting linebacker right away and won the defensive rookie of the year award.

Robertson, a 1971–78 Rams player out of Southern University, was selected to the Pro Bowl six times. Between 1973 and 1978, Robertson was a standout player for the Rams, helping them win six straight NFC West titles. In 111 games, he had 18 interceptions and 2 touchdowns.

Robertson played four more seasons with the Buffalo Bills after being moved from the Rams to Buffalo in 1978.
