Ashton Gillotte is from Louisville Listed among ESPN’s 2023 College Football Top 100 Players.

LOUISVILLE, KY: Surprisingly, the defense carried the Louisville football program through its first season under head coach Jeff Brohm, and the team’s best defender is regarded as one of the best in the country. Ashton Gillotte, a defensive end for Louisville, is ranked 78th on ESPN’s list of the Top 100 players for the 2023 season, which was released on Wednesday. The rankings were determined by a series of one-on-one votes cast by more than 10,000 voters from ESPN’s voter pool. QBs Michael Penix Jr. of Washington, Ohio State, and Jayden Daniels of LSU.

At the last minute, a highly anticipated transfer has switched to Louisville. EDGE of Tennessee Tyler Baron originally committed to Ole Miss, but he’s going to Louisville instead. Over his career in Knoxville, Baron recorded 101 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks in 48 games. In 12 games in 2023, Baron recorded 28 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks while playing for the Vols.
