The head coach of the Maple Leafs gets into a fight with the players.

The Toronto Maple Leafs dominated the New York Islanders early on in their game at UBS Arena, taking a commanding two-goal lead. But the Islanders turned the tables on the Leafs by taking advantage of two power-play opportunities, and the momentum abruptly changed.

The Islanders scored goals through Kyle Palmieri and Bo Horvat when they had the man advantage, while Toronto was unable to muster any offensive spark on their power plays. In his post-game interview with NHL.com, head coach Sheldon Keefe voiced his displeasure with the team’s performance, focusing in particular on the poor performance of the special teams.

Keefe said, “Special teams were rotten tonight.” “We had terrible power play, penalty kill, and overtime. You lose games because of that. We had one chance with our power play, and we wasted it. The puck was in our net before we could blink to begin the game, and it’s as bad as we’ve seen on any power play.”
