American football quarterback Jalen Hurts was born in Houston, Texas, on August 7, 1998. He is well-known for his ability to pass and rush the ball. Hurts was a member of the squad that won the 2018 College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship while playing for the University of Alabama from 2016 to 2018, as well as the University of Oklahoma in 2019. The Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) selected him in the 2020 NFL Draft, and in the 2022–2023 season, he helped the team win Super Bowl LVII. In April 2023, Hurts agreed to a five-year, $255 million contract extension with the Eagles, making him one of the NFL’s highest earners per year.

Jalen Alexander Hurts is the second child of Averion Hurts, Sr., the high school football coach at Channelview (Texas) High School, where Hurts played football and attended school. Pamela (née Dewalt) Hurts is a special education teacher and department chairperson. Jalen also competed in the weightlifting sport of powerlifting, placing third in his weight class at the regional level. In 2015, he made the commitment to play football for the University of Alabama. 2018 saw him earn a bachelor’s degree in communications and information sciences from Alabama. Later, he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated in 2023 with a master’s in human relations.
