Four Louisville football players are (likely) not coming back in 2024.

The Louisville Cardinals have swum into practically unknown waters for the program under Jeff Brohm. After taking over for Scott Satterfield in his first season, Brohm has Louisville in the vicinity of the top 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The Cardinals, led by Bobby Petrino and Lamar Jackson, peaked at No. 5 in the CFP rankings in 2016 and finished at No. 13 nationally. Though Louisville’s start to the Brohm era couldn’t have been better, the loss to Pitt probably ends any hopes of qualifying for the College Football Playoffs.

Thus, it might not be too soon to start thinking about the upcoming season. A season possibly devoid of some of Jack Plummer’s most cherished weapons. These four athletes may depart from Louisville early to enter the NFL draft or use a transfer portal.
