ONBA Playoff nightmare for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023 as measured by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s stats.

Even with Giannis Antetokounmpo giving it his all, the Milwaukee Bucks were defeated in five games by the Miami Heat in the opening round of the NBA playoffs, causing the first major upset of the season.

The Milwaukee Bucks unexpectedly lost to the Miami Heat in five games in the opening round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s best efforts.

The No. 8 Heat, who advanced through the play-in tournament, took on the Bucks, who had won the Eastern Conference title going into the postseason. Giannis and his team were left wondering what went wrong after the Heat unexpectedly defeated the Bucks. They then advanced to the NBA Finals but were defeated in five games by the Denver Nuggets.

In the 2022–23 regular season, the Greek superstar had a career year, averaging a career-high 31.1 points per game. Giannis exceeded his previous career high of 29.9, which he had set in 2021–2022, but the postseason saw no continuation of that trend.

Despite not being fully healthy, Giannis missed two of the five games against the Heat before scoring 38 points in the decisive Game 5 loss. Giannis, Milwaukee’s main threat, suffered a lower back contusion in the first quarter of the first game against Miami. Just six points had been scored by him prior to his injury.
