Predicting the Pistons depth chart: Assessing Detroit’s roster following the commencement of free agency.

The Detroit Pistons, who had $30 million in cap space going into the first weekend of NBA free agency, did not sign any players. They did, nevertheless, add a few new things.

All told, Detroit added veteran point guard Monte Morris from the Wizards, who can guard and shoot, as well as sharpshooting veteran Joe Harris from Brooklyn via two separate trades, $2 million, and an additional second-round pick. The only thing the Pistons gave up in exchange for all of this was Balsa Koprivica’s draft rights. Morris and Harris are both on expiring contracts.

The boisterous and thrilling free agency that some fans had hoped and prayed for hasn’t materialized yet. Nevertheless, Detroit did improve this past weekend and kept a lot of flexibility while it looks to see if it has any homegrown talent on its roster. Before the rosters have to be finalized in October, there most likely will be one or two trades. But as far as signings go, I don’t see the Pistons adding anyone very important.

Having said that, let’s look at Detroit’s depth chart and discuss some of the remaining concerns that might come up if the season began tomorrow.
