Which Blue Jays have the best chance of winning awards in 2024?

The Toronto Blue Jays will enter the 2024 season with plenty of expectations, both as a team and as individual contributors. With pitchers and catchers set to report in just three weeks, it’s time to consider players who could be in the running for hardware by the time November rolls around.

Bo Bichette – MVP 

At some point over the past two seasons, this has become Bichette’s team, and it’s about time he got more recognition on the national level. He’s been the Jays player with the most votes earned over the past two years, finishing 11th in voting in 2022 and 16th last year.

Undoubtedly, Bichette would have been given more credit if he hadn’t developed right patellar tendinitis during his late-July baserunning injury. The young star was sidelined for ten days due to a quad strain that occurred just eight days after the initial injury, resulting in an unfortunate turn of events that caused him to miss three weeks of play.

Bichette’s performance over the past two months has been far below his typical level, hitting just.254 with three home runs in 29 games. Bo was hitting.260 in September of 2022, but he finished the season on a scorching.406 clip, with seven home runs in his final 32 games, earning him some MVP consideration. If the gifted 25-year-old stays healthy for the entire season, there will be plenty of opportunities for him to develop
