Thanks to master strength coach, “Beat Bama” drills, and leadership, Michigan managed to weather a turbulent season.

California’s Pasadena (AP) — Blake Corum believes that rather than in spite of all the difficulties they have faced this season, the Michigan Wolverines are unbeaten, unranked, and two victories away from a national championship because of it.

The star running back for Michigan, who is seated with his teammates under a large white tent outside the Rose Bowl on Saturday in the pouring rain, discusses his perspective. On Monday, the Wolverines (13-0) will play Alabama (12-1) in the College Football Playoff semifinal.

“I believe we gained knowledge from every failure and error we made,” Corum remarked. “I believe that this team is stronger than ever, both mentally and physically, after everything we’ve gone through this year. That’s largely the reason for our impressive performance. We simply got together. I didn’t think our team could get any closer, but we did. When hardship strikes, you have two options. Either you can give up or you can persevere. We simply continued on.
