Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord comments on Marvin Harrison Jr.’s Heisman Trophy campaign.
The star wide receiver is defended by the quarterback for the Buckeyes.
In the first half of Ohio State’s 38-3 victory over Michigan State on Saturday in Columbus, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. strengthened his resume as a Heisman Trophy winner. With seven receptions for 149 yards and a 19-yard touchdown run to close out the game, he further demonstrated his enormous value to Ohio State and starting quarterback Kyle McCord in his first year.
After the game, McCord remarked, “I can’t really quantify how impactful he is to this offence.” In one-on-one matches, he clearly prevails. I think there’s situations where he takes two defenders with him. Someone else is available if they wish to double him. He does an excellent job blocking, in my opinion. He gives the offence so much. It was probably a month ago.
a long time ago, if that is actually the prize given to the best player, he needs to be in the running.”
Harrison Jr. has 12 touchdown catches this season, which ranks him second among all FBS receivers. He has 59 receptions for 1,063 yards.
The entire speech McCord made following the Buckeyes’ 38-3 victory over Michigan State is listed below.
Regarding the challenge of staying focused amidst all the external distractions in the Big Ten:
To be honest, not at all tough. We’ve done an excellent job of isolating all of the noise, in my opinion. Furthermore, I believe that it is meaningless at this point in the season, regardless of what people may be saying or the rankings, because, in the end, we still have a lot of football left, especially in November, when championships are won. Therefore, I believe the team has done a fantastic job, if anything, of blocking out outside noise and practically putting on blinkers.inside.
