With the move to Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace is expected to increase their yearly matchday revenue to £22 million, according to Football Insider.
By building a new Main Stand, the Eagles plan to increase the capacity of their home stadium by more than 8,000 seats.
In their most recent 2021/22 accounts, the London team reported matchday revenue of £14.1 million; however, after the expansion is finished, Palace hopes to increase that amount to about £22 million per season.
The Eagles have been given the go-ahead to start renovating Selhurst Park, as Football Insider reported on October 12.
The project is scheduled to start construction in the summer of 2024.
13,500 spectators will be able to fit into the stadium’s new Main Stand, which will be constructed alongside renovated areas of the field and a new fan zone.
The official Palace website says that the new stand will feature a museum, cafe, and three levels of seating in addition to a new club shop.
Additionally, new hospitality packages will be available to fans inside the stand, adding to the matchday revenue totals.
It is estimated that the project will now cost about £150 million to complete, despite having an initial budget of about £100 million.
